If you tried one of the 88 ways to follow your heart from our last email, it may have sparked something inside of you. I know people are craving this feeling because I keep seeing those viral “almost forgot this was the whole point” POV videos highlighting the simple joys in life.
When you experience a simple joy, it might make you question the things that you put so much effort into. Is the reward as sweet? If not, you might not want to keep doing it. Your priorities might change.
I saw another TikTok this week that said there are two kinds of adults in the world: those who settle and those who chase.
To summarize his point: The ones who settle are at least on first glance, happier. They have long term relationships and promotions in their jobs and kids or at least very spoiled pets. They have their lives “together” but there is typically a underlying yearning. I know this because they tell me about it. They ask me if the chase is worth it.
Chasers are the kind of people go through a break up, change careers, move across the country, and then do it again 5-10 years later. (That is literally my story three times over.) On the surface they might seem miserable, but if you ask them they often say they feel hopeful for the future.
In other words, settlers just never change their priorities and chasers find it inevitable. As a seeker, I don’t crave instability but I’m not going to sit inside a burning house.
If your intuition tells you to run, RUN.
If you don’t know where to go, go to Heartability. Build a Treasure Map. It might not give you complete stability, but it give you clear direction to head and missions to accomplish along the way.
Life is a long game. Achieving your biggest goals will take you on twists and turns you didn’t even know existed. When that happens, stay curious.
Hopefulness is priceless. You cannot buy it, you can only cultivate it within yourself. It acts on faith. Faith is not certainty. Faith is, by nature, unsure. It is humble. It is a step toward the unknown, a commitment to following your heart.
Have faith in yourself. But if you can’t yet, you have Heartability.
We believe in you <3
